PATTERNS. AWARENESS. AGENCY.
Hi, I'm Dorian Carey
Counsellor | Educator | Speaker
Helping young people understand their behaviour, relationships and choices.
Young people want to understand what shapes behaviour...and how they can shape what happens next.
Dorian delivers engaging, psychologically informed presentations shaped by student voice and informed by data. Before each presentation, students’ own perspectives, experiences and thinking about behaviour are gathered and analysed. Their responses help identify the patterns, questions and challenges most relevant to the student community, ensuring the presentation speaks directly to their lived experience.
This means students do not simply receive a generic message. Their own thinking becomes part of the conversation. Their perspectives are used to dig deeper into how young people understand themselves, relate to others and make decisions; creating a more relevant, reflective and meaningful learning experience.
Drawing on counselling, education, leadership and real-world experience, each presentation moves students beyond being told what is “right” or “wrong”. Instead, they are helped to understand why people behave the way they do, how behaviour patterns influence relationships and choices, and the role they have in choosing who they become.

Your students help shape the conversation.
The most effective presentations are not simply delivered to young people. They begin by understanding them.
Where appropriate, students complete an anonymous pre-event survey exploring their perspectives on behaviour, relationships, respect, emotional regulation and the issues affecting their generation.
Their responses help identify the patterns, questions and challenges most relevant to that school community.
Dorian then brings those insights together with psychological research, behavioural science and real-world experience to create a presentation that is relevant to the people in the room.
Students see their own collective thinking reflected back to them, then explore what may be influencing those attitudes and behaviours.
The result is a presentation that feels less like a lecture and more like a meaningful conversation, helping young people:
- recognise important behaviour patterns
- understand themselves and others more clearly
- question assumptions
- think critically about their choices
- strengthen personal agency
- consider the character they want their actions to reflect
Listen to the audience. Understand the patterns. Bring in the evidence. Create meaningful conversation.
Why people choose dorian
Psychologically informed. Educationally grounded.
Dorian brings together counselling, education and leadership experience to make complex ideas about behaviour, relationships and emotional regulation understandable for young people.
With a Master of Counselling and 14 years of secondary education experience, presentations are designed with both student engagement and educational context in mind.
Insight that leads to action.
The goal is not simply to give students information or inspiration.
Students are encouraged to recognise patterns, question assumptions, strengthen self-awareness and consider how their choices, responses and values shape what happens next.
Built around your students, not a generic script.
Where appropriate, anonymous student survey data helps identify the attitudes, questions and behaviour patterns most relevant to your school community.
This allows the presentation to reflect the people in the room and create conversations that feel relevant, current and meaningful.
Relevant enough to engage them.
Practical enough to use.
Meaningful enough to stay with them.
